Greetings. Steve is my name and being weird is my game.
I imagine that if you've found yourself here, that you already know who I am... but if you don't: welcome; if you do know me then maybe you'll learn something new. Currently a uni student, but graduating hopefully at the end of the year.
I grew up in Canberra, but nowadays live in Melbourne. I find that both cities have had hugely positive impacts upon my creative practices. Canberra punches above its weight. The prescence of national institutions does mean that under the surface bubbles an extremely creative artistic scene. One of the most memorable music gigs I've ever been to was in Haig Park in the Inner North of Canberra: I entered an inflatable bubble, was given an eye mask and told to relax on a beanbag whilst Ashleigh Drury played ambient music on the bass. On the other hand, Melbourne obviously has a glut of live music and art events - but so much of it is concentrated in only a few small areas of such a large city. It's a shame really that there aren't scenes all over the shop. That's kinda something that would be cool to be part of.
By the way, if you know any art galleries that would want to buy or display my bellybutton fluff - I've been collecting it in a little container since 2020 as a kind of performance art piece in process.
